We sat down to ask him a few questions about work and life so you can get a taste of Dave.

What inspired you to pursue a career in creative direction?

From when I was in kindy, I've loved to be creative. I always drew as a kid and then when I realised I could do it for a living I went and studied graphic design. I've also been fortunate to be a published cartoonist and finished a children's book a couple of years ago. I suppose it's in my DNA.

A little birdy told us you’re an ex-business partner of Jeff, what are some of the funniest or most embarrassing moments that you have experienced with him?

When you look at his desktop (office and computer) it's like a bomb has exploded - it gives me goosebumps every time I see it. I don't know he finds anything suffice to say it makes me laugh because there is method to his madness because he's a brilliant Creative Director.

What are some of the hobbies or passions that you enjoy outside of work?

Love to surf, swim and keeping active. I still like working on other creative projects (like another book!)

What are some of the books, movies, shows, music or podcasts that you have enjoyed recently or would recommend to others?

I'll start with two books I've just finished by two actors on the other ends of the spectrum, "Did I ever tell you this? - by Sam Neill", and would you believe "Total Recall - by Arnold Schwarzenegger". Both autobiographies. TV - Ted Lasso, Ozarks plus I'm an ABC nerd and Triple J tragic. Top Gun Maverick last movie and also Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse - amazing animation!

What are some of the goals or dreams that you have for yourself as a creative?

Just to continue putting out great creative because it still engages me even these days as the landscape has definitely changed over my career.

What do you love most working at Creative Resort?

The people, both our own and the clients we partner with who understand and appreciate the process. Plus the range of briefs that come through the door - you never know what you're going to be working on next!
